As it was I saved 30 wonderful dollars which I can now use to buy food with. If I had just gone to Get Used I would have saved myself an hour or more and a headache. I called my mom, got the number for Get Used across the street, who it turned out not only had no line, but had the book AND the used copy to boot. I kid you not, I was wondering if people were cutting or there was some sort of robbery/death crisis keeping the cashiers from doing their jobs. I finally gave up when after 20 minutes the line HADN’T MOVED ONCE. I waited 20 minutes to GET INTO the actual store, at which point I grabbed what I wanted within 2 minutes and proceeded to stand in line for 45 minutes… and the best part is… I moved 3 feet. I’ve been a student here for several years, and right now I have to say I’m VERY thankful I never have to come back to this evil place of pain, ever again. I had to add this after my experience yesterday at the bookstore. You can buy your parking permit at the cashier’s office, also, which I will be doing from now on. So, in my experience, I wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you can’t find your books elsewhere for a cheaper price or need special items that can only be found there. Also, don’t bother e-mailing them a question on their website because they’ll never respond. Maybe I just went on a bad day, but I came back a couple days later and the other woman I talked to had no problem refunding my money. She talked to the manager and he said he wouldn’t accept it, either. She refused to accept it even though I had dropped all my classes, had the permit in almost perfect condition, and was returning it within the deadline. One woman was downright rude to me when I tried to return a parking permit. You try to ask a question and it’s like they don’t want to be bothered. Occasionally, there will be someone who is nice and approachable, but for the most part most of the people working in there have no people skills in my experience. Most of the people who work here are not very friendly. Please, do yourself a favor and buy your books online or in the store across the street. I love the new building, but I really dislike the bookstore itself. Large white mocha is the way to go! You can also pay for other things at the Peet’s cashier, such as: scantrons, snacks, and other drinks like Red Bull or Gatorade. However! They are quick! Usually there is a long line but I never wait long for my coffee. Another downfall is that they don’t accept gift cards. There aren’t all the amazing selections you would find at an actual Peet’s. But unforunately, no stamps… I am giving this place four stars only because of the Peet’s Coffee located inside. They sell envelopes and other such things. Another thing that kind of threw me off about this place is that they don’t sell stamps. There are plenty of cashiers, so even if the lines are long, it goes by fast. You will be missing out on parts of your class for not having the DVC edition Thus, students are forced to buy the expensive DVC edition. You will either have to buy more than one book or 2. If you try to purchase required texts from anywhere else: 1. DVC has made it so that their book editions have certain extra sections from other texts that make it difficult to avoid purchasing from here. But for a junior college, it is expected. Compared to a bookstore at a university, this place is small.
